Portugueses entre os melhores dos Graphis Awards

Foram há dias anunciados os vencedores dos Graphis Awards 2013. A editora internacional Graphis Inc. nasceu em 1944, com a publicação do “Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication”, por Walter Herdeg, em Zurique Suíça, e é reconhecida pela publicação dos seus anuais de capa-dura com o melhor que se faz no mundo nas áreas do design, publicidade, fotografia, packaging, interacção e outras artes gráficas. Heitor Alvelos é o próximo convidado na 6ª série do Personal Views. A conferência realizar-se-á Sexta-feira, 19 de Janeiro, pelas 17 horas na ESAD Matosinhos. Heitor Alvelos é designer e agente cultural, tendo sido pioneiro na implementação da Investigação de Design em Portugal. Nascido em Viseu, em 1966, é Doutor em Design (Royal College of Art, 2003) e Mestre em Visual Communication (School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1992). É membro do Conselho Científico da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, ao Conselho Executivo da European Academy of Design, e Director do ID+ (Instituto de Investigação em Design, Media e Cultura), pela Universidade do Porto. Arena selfmade workshop

Who passes by Fundação EDP, near Casa da Música, at Oporto, will now see an original wood structure that resembles a star if seen from above. The star is actually a theatre made by 45 students graduating or getting their master’s degree in architecture, interior and product design. It was built in 10 days, during the “arena selfmade workshop”, promoted by ESAD Matosinhos and Design Factory as part of Remade in Portugal. Remade in Portugal is the Portuguese version of Remade in Italy, whose goal is to encourage the use of recycled materials, through events and recurrent exhibitions. “Find Your Guimarães” by Irena Übler

“Find Your Guimarães” is a project inserted in the European Capital of Culture that had its beginning as an academic research project, which explores creative tourism from an industrial design perspective. It was designed by Irena Übler, who explained in detail all the creative process in a conference at ESAD, on the 4th October. Irena was an Austrian industrial design student when she came to ESAD Matosinhos in Erasmus and fell in love with our country.
