Portugal é um país pequeno, mas no que toca à sua representação por meio de imagens, a tarefa é  enriquecida pela variedade de figuras e ícones que existem no país. Assim se enuncia o propósito de Portugal Portefolio, uma colecção de pensamentos e repensamentos sobre a identidade portuguesa, materializados em ilustrações, fotografias, esculturas, entre outros. A intenção é de criar “uma memória futura”, “um testemunho da passagem do tempo”. Both João Machado and José Brandão are major names in the Portuguese graphic design scene, and had a big role in our graphic design evolution. In Oporto, in the number 84 of the Picaria street, there is a Lady in Distress. The Dama Aflita Gallery is showing us what is going on in the world of Illustration and Drawing. The project began three years ago, at a time when there were very few spots dedicated to showcase those art practices.
